My name is Shuhei, a 3rd year student at UWS (University of Western Sydney) in Australia.I am studying a Bachelor of Industrial Design.
I am an international student from Japan and came to Australia in 2007 straight after I graduated high school in Japan.
After I got Australia, realized how many different cultures are in the world, I could not imagine that before. I have heard of it and sort of understood all those things but it is just so real.
These days people have been talking about globalization like how we need to understand differences between culture and things. However, what I saw in Australia was how all the people are having basically the same life, I mean way of live. Wake up, wash face, eat breakfast, brush their teeth...etc
What high school students talk is almost the same in this country and Japan.
It sounds so simple but it is so real to know how we live likewise, to whom are trying to understand differences.
Each one of us in this world has differences, so are cultures. Understanding cultures probably mean to understand that we are all the same.
Such a nice experience should help my design philosophy in the future.
